There have been some questions concerning the Gifted and Talented program at Maryetta School. I hope this clarifies some things: The gifted and talented program process of choosing students follows the Maryetta Gifted and Talented Policy (on file-available on request). 1. Students may be nominated by a teacher 2. Students score advanced in one or more areas on the State Standardized Test 3. Students score above average/high on the DIBELS testing 4. Art contest winners 5. Contest winners 6. 97% on the SLOSSEN intelligence test Once these names are gathered, a series of screenings and teacher rubrics are given to whoever nominated them or their teacher/adult involved in said gift or talent. If THOSE numbers are met (percentiles) THEN they are officially in the gifted and talented program. JUST BECAUSE A STUDENT IS NOMINATED DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE AUTOMATICALLY IN THE GT PROGRAM. Also, I, (Ms. Adrian) as the gifted and talented coordinator, have NOTHING to do with who is on the roster of GT. I have the ability to make a nomination as a teacher at Maryetta, but the rubrics and other factors must also be met according to policy. I know that's a lot of information, but I'm trying my best to clear up some of the confusion of the program. If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to message me. Weekly Events!

Due to a change in ball games on the 11th. We are changing the Future Cheer Practice and Performance Days. The new practice days are the September 9th & 16th. The performance day is September 18th. Due date for forms is still on the 28th of August. Let's go Future Raiders.

School picture day is this Monday, August 18th!
Picture forms were sent home earlier this week with students. All picture forms and money will need to be sent to teachers. Extra picture forms are in the front office.

Maryetta 7th & 8th Grade Service & Leadership Club is excited to kick off a new school year!

We will hold a Mandatory Parent/Student Meeting tonight at 6:00 PM in the Eagleton Activity Center.

If you are unable to attend tonight, a second meeting option will be offered on Wednesday, August 13, at 7:30 AM in the Jr. High Library.

Please make arrangements to attend one of these mandatory meetings with your student.

All softball games for today have been canceled, 08-12-2025.

The 4th grade softball games at Rocky Mt has been cancelled for today (8/12/25)
